1880s MORPHINE LABEL UNDER GLASS APOTHECARY BOTTLE & STOPPER WRIGHT

This is an authentic 1880s label under glass Morphine bottle with its original ground glass stopper.... SOL.MORPH.MUR. in black letters on gold background shield shape label under glass cover on front of bottle.. ALFRED WRIGHT PERFUMER ROCHESTER,N.Y. emb on back in circle slug plate......Plain bottom....Hand blown in mold...smooth base..hand tooled ring lip...clear...round.....7 1/4"tall (8 1/4"with stopper)....Original ground glass stopper. It has a hard to see small heat stress crack near base of neck; No other damage to the bottle itself, but the glass label has a crack down the middle and chipped left side. Some light content haze inside, but bottle is empty. Morphine was widely used in the 1800s as a pain killer, anesthetic, etc. Many users became addicted however, and some died from overdoses...
