Absorbine JR Relic Dug Glass Bottle 2 3/4" tall Metal Cap Medical Cure Liniment This is a vintage "Absorbine Jr" bottle that measures 2 3/4" tall x 1" diameter. The screw cap is metal with aged green patina. This is a dug relic with aged appearance & dirty inside. I am selling as relic and there is no product inside. The bottom is marked by maker, " Absorbine Jr". Originally Absorbine was a horse liniment product created by W.F. Young in mid to late 1800's. Later the company created a product for humans and added the "Junior" to the name. It was kind of a cure-all for aches and pains and "ringworm of the foot". W.F Young was the first to coin the term, "Athlete's Foot" and used this term on early labels. The original product contained wormwood, thymol menthol and acetone. They probably dropped the acetone when it became known as a carcinogen! This bottle probably dates to 1930-1950's. I don't think that they make the product anymore. Interesting that the cap survived.
