Vintage cast iron bottle opener in the shape of a parrot or Toucan bird sitting on a perch. This old bottle cap opener with its original paint has a very nice aged patina. The yellow, red, and blue colors are still vibrant though worn in areas, as shown in the photo above. This beer/soda bottle opener is made in the style produced in the 1930's and 1940's. There is wear on the black painted stand where a maker's mark would appear. I can see, what I think is a very faint "W" close to the perch, but cannot say for sure. I didn't want to disturb the paint any further to find out, but I believe it may be John Wright. Again, I am not familiar with the distinctions between Hubley, Wright or Wilson, so I will leave that evaluation to the collector. Please examine the photos carefully as to condition and to maker. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. This cast iron parrot beer/soda bottle opener stands approx. 5" tall with a base of 1 1/2" x 1 3/4" and is in very good vintage condition. Very nice old bottle opener disguised as a parrot to display in a Bottle Opener/Breweriana Collection, or as a fun colorful figure to add to a parrot/bird collection!
