Thatcher Glass company whose whole reputation was built years ago on the story that Mr Thatcher saw a milkman delivering milk. A small child dropped her doll into the open pail, the milkman calmly lifted the dirty doll out of the pail and after handing the doll back to the child, he calmly dipped the milk out of the pail and delivered it to the next customer. Mr Thatcher decided at that time that something different could be made to insure more sanitation for customers and literally invented the milk bottle we came to know over the early years of this century. He patented his design in the 1880's. This green bottle was manufactured by the Thatcher Class Company. It is embossed with the words Water on one side and Juice on the other. It is marked with the ounces along the side. The Thatcher backstamp is visible on the bottom of the bottle (see photos). While the bottles are in excellent condition, especially for their age, there are some minimal, hard to see water stains (see photos). Shipping information is
for one item only. For buyers of more than one item in the lot, Pricetronic’s practice
is to simply multiply the cost for shipping one item by the number of items
purchased, resulting in ridiculously high shipping costs. In such cases, we
carefully pack the multiple items in a suitable carton and calculate the actual
amount of shipping cost for those items. Then we refund to the buyer whatever the
overage might be. You can trust us to keep our promises as evidenced by our
stellar Pricetronic rating, both as seller and buyer. Because WE DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS , please, please look at the photos carefully
and contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns as we welcome such
correspondence. Notes on shipping : While we
wish we could provide free shipping, at these prices we simply cannot. We generally
use USPS Priority Mail because the rates are competitive, and insurance is
included in the rates. Please know that we NEVER charge more than what
Pricetronic calculates the actual shipping costs will be from our zip code to yours,
and we never add handling charges but instead absorb the costs of shipping
materials, rather than passing those costs along to our buyers. In the rare
case that there is damage during shipment, it will be the BUYER’S RESPONSIBILITY to file a claim with the USPS. USPS will require the buyer to
take the merchandise and shipping carton to the local post office even if we
sellers file the claim, so in our experience, it is to the buyer’s advantage to
file the claim. Of course, we will help in any way we can. DO NOT BUY IF THAT IS
UNACCEPTABLE.
