LYDIA PINKHAM 1870s GROUND PONTIL BOTTLE. Beautiful aqua oval shape with rounded corners with lots of nice bubbles. This is a heavy and slightly whittled example and probably one of the early issues. This one stands 8 5/8 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches wide at the base which looks to have a ground pontil as it is rough to the touch. It has a circular indented area. Lydia Pinkham’s Compound was used for relieving Hot Flashes, ie; Change Of Life in women. This was manufactured in Lynn, Mass. A beautiful drippy lip and a nice elongated bubble top left just below neck. Extra clean and sharp with no cracks or chips.
