Clear 4 0z Little Boy Blue Bluing Product Bottle Jar Ball Made Heavy Crude. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. This is an antique glass laundry bottle embossed, "Little Boy Blue Bluing" on the neck with the Owens Illinois Glass mark on the bottom along with codes that I cannot make out. The machine made bottle likely had a metal top and dates to the 1910s to 1940s. The glass on the inside bottom of the jar is uneven, a sign of age. The bottle is in wonderful condition, free of breaks or cracks. The vintage laundry bottle measures a little under 4" high and 1.5" wide. Little Boy Blue Bluing and Little Bo Peep Ammonia were turn of the century laundry products. Bluing was added to laundry to make whites look whiter and brighter. The Condensed Bluing Company. of Chicago, IL, applied for trademarks for Little Boy Blue laundry bluing in 1914 and Little Bo Beep Ammonia in 1922. The products became very popular until after World War II. Eventually, Purex purchased both product lines.
