This is a vintage Williamsburg Pottery Bird Bottle made from Salt Glazed Stoneware. It is the perfect ceramic Bird House! Bird Bottles are tucked in the corners, under the eves, on buildings all throughout Colonial Williamsburg. This Bird Bottle is the traditional light gray salt glaze pottery with a navy blue leaf pattern. Bird Bottles are designed with a pointed notch on the back opening so they can hang from a large spike attached to the dwelling (spike not included). There are holes in the handle and the bottle to insert a twig perch (twig not included). The bottles can easily be taken off from the nail for cleaning. These are great pieces to add to your home. Perfect for a potting shed or barn too! Great gift idea! The Bird Bottle pitcher measures approximately 7.5" long, about 4.5" wide and 3" wide at the opening of the bottle, and 3.5" wide across the based that goes against the structure. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. The Bird Bottle has a rustic look typical of Williamsburg Pottery so the small imperfections are part of the style. The piece is stamped and dated 2008?. Please review photos for condition.
